Righteousness is a quality of God, the very standard of what is right and wrong. In fact, the Greek word for righteousness as used in Matthew is diskaiosune. In a broad sense, it means to live in a state approved of by God—a life of integrity, virtue, purity, rightness, correct thinking, feeling, and acting.

That the “righteousness of God” refers to a divine gift is clear from Philippianswhere Paul speaks of “the righteousness from God” (tēn ek theou dikaiosynēn).

The righteousness is not Paul’s own, deriving from his observance of the law. It is a righteousness from God himself, obtained by faith in Jesus Christ.

The Righteousness of God “I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.’” - Romans – This means that there are times as many scriptures about righteousness as there are about faith.

Righteousness is important. A layman’s definition of righteousness is simply, “right standing with God.” Righteousness is the condition of being in right relationship with the Lord. Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.

2 I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For, being ignorant of the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. A Prayer for Righteousness By Pete Briscoe.

Prayer to God: The opening of a dialog with the Creator Of The Universe. How can we, as a brief speck within the history of time, be of significance to the Creator of the Heavens.

Lacking humility in how to pray may cause deafening silence within our prayer life: For many, our prayer life has a focus on asking God to serve our desires.

The author argues instead for the view that»the righteousness of God«in Rom ; –22; ; 2 Cor ; and Phil is the status of righteousness that comes from God as a gift. Advocates of the New Perspective on Paul appeal to the view that»righteousness«in biblical theology is a Verhältnisbegriff (relational concept).

“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness.” Righteousness is the rightness of God. The rightness of God in your spirit, the rightness of God in your soul, the rightness of God in your body, the rightness of God in your affairs, in your home, in your business, everywhere.

God is an all-around God. 10 Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

righteousness in all the word of God is the following concerning Christ: "Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even Thy God, hath anointed Thee with the oil 11 of gladness above Thy fellows." Heb.

This places righteousness as the antithesis, the direct opposite, of iniquity, or sin.righteousness of God mean that God ALWAYS DOES RIGHT.

He does not ever do wrong. If He makes a promise, He always fulfils it. When He said “walk before me and be perfect and I will bless you,” the righteousness of God is that if you obey Him, you cannot remain in poverty; your star will shine!

He cannot but fulfill His promise to you.“God is not unrighteous to overlook your work and labor of love” (Heb ). “Whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord (Eph ; cf. Luke ). God rewards righteousness.
